           Receiver was intermittent about 5 minutes after turn on. Q1 (RF mute transistor) and R2 and R3 (bottom of pcb) fried on the TX-RX 1 Unit PCB.

Below are pics from my 3rd Elecraft K2 Transceiver (Ser. #2786)

  Included are the following options and modifications:

   1- SSB
      -Includes 2nd stage XFil Mod for flatter SSB Filter Response
      -Mod to improve IMD for PSK31 transmissions
      -10db RF mod to increase gain ("Improving the performance of the KSB2" - KI6WX)
      -20 turn Pot for carrier balance adjustment

   2- Noise Blanker
      -latest updated pcb  

   3- 160 Meter

   4- KPA100
      -Min 105 watts on all bands.
      -Improved swr/power accuracy even with KPA100 bypassed!

    5 - Astatic 575-M6 Hand Held Microphone 

   6- As of May 8, 2003: - Transceiver updated with all mods, and filters tuned 

       using Spectrogram.    

-Most IC's are installed into high quality sockets for easy removal.
-Used Kester "no clean" Silver Solder. Flux removed from most of the PCB's.
-Crystals are grounded as low as possible to the pcbs.
-Installed K2 Temperature Compensated PLL Reference Upgrade (May '03).  Picture of modification is shown below.....
